I’ve been trying to bill AMH-TCM for a straight MA client
for a client we did telehealth with in May. According to the bulletin it
appears that we should be using telehealth (in patient’s home) as the location.
When we do that I get an error saying procedure code is inconsistent with the
provider type/specialty. I tired billing it directly through MN-its with the
same results. We have filed all of the necessary paperwork with DHS as of
4/13/23. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Should we use the
covid coding instead?
Thank you!

Brown County is having same problem. Paperwork filed, but unsure if we needed to wait until we see an approval from DHS that our additional "specialty code" has been added to our Provider file. So claims are being denied.
ReplyDeleteWe had this same issue but because the date of services was prior to the federal emergency ending using the COVID coding instead and then it should go through.
ReplyDeletethe service date on our claim is 5/19/23, so we do fall after the emergency ended.
DeleteSorry I saw the 4/13/23 and thought that was the date of service.
DeleteIt sounds like DHS needs to do some updating to connect the HCPC and the method of contact. I would call the Provider Help Desk.
ReplyDeleteThe instructions they put in the SSIS Update - Issue 603 email that came out says to use: Method = Face to Face; Location = Select location of Case Manager; Cnty Acctg: ITV (free text field).
ReplyDeleteHow is everyone billing these visits to the health plans? Set up a new service for ITV or billing as a F2F visit and selecting Telemedicine as the place of service?
