Do counties reconcile incentives from collections? Incentives, such as, MFIP/DWP, SNAP, AFDC,MSA, MA…
If so, how do you do it?

We have broken it down by Federal share/State share/County Share when we receipt the payment as the funds are broken down into separate accounts based on the amount that each entity will receive from the recovery. Those breakouts are recorded on an informal spreadsheet with three columns, one for Fed, one for State, one for County with a line to describe the transaction, date, etc. When we receive the DHS bill, we reconcile the Fed share/State share, which can sometimes be off a penny or two due to rounding. At the beginning of a new year, we start a new spreadsheet.
ReplyDeleteOlmsted does reconcile the incentives. Each cash receipt is separated into the incentive groups (MFIP, SNAP, AFDC, MA etc.) as it comes in. We then reconcile the cash receipts to the state reports MW7013 & MW0117(for MA) or FN530201 & FN790301(MFIP/SNAP/AFDC). If you would like more information, please let me know.
