CMH Supplies/clothing Brass Code question

 08-30-24

We have social workers purchasing school clothes and supplies for their CMH clients (not OHP), along with other things to help with their goals such as journals, sensory items, etc.  Sometimes we’ll have a grant for this, but this year I don’t think we will/do.  The social workers are using BRASS 430 for this, but it doesn’t seem like the right fit to me.  Is there a better funding source for these types of purchases?  Where are other counties putting these types of expenses?

Thank you,

MN Trans claims over 50 Lines

 08-30-24

At Cass County, we have transportation claims to DHS that exceed 50 lines.  This creates quite a bit of manual manipulation on our part, which is extra time and space for error.  I spoke with MNITS about allowing more (EDI allows up to 1,500 lines) and got NO, they’re not interested in doing this, for an answer.  I’ve reached out to MNCCC/IFS for an enhancement request for the claim to be automatically split, and they’re looking into it.

What do other counties do if claims are over 50 lines?  Would anyone be willing to attend the IFS enhancement committee to express interest in passing this?

Thank you,

Question on EDMS systems used

 08-22-24

I have a question for the  blog if you would be so kind to ask?  I know that there are 14 counties currently using CW Ace (Becker, Beltrami, Big Stone, Blue Earth, Clay, Grant, Isanti, Mahnomen, Meeker, Nobles, Otter Tail, Pope, Red Lake and Roseau)  But are other counties using an electronic system other than Caseworks that interfaces into either IFS/SSIS for their invoices verses printing and signing and having all of the added paperwork and scanning?

Thanks!

Amy

Ucare MH TCM Claims denial

 05-14-24

Good Morning,

Wondering if I can get a question posted on the blog when you have time please?

My claims are denying from Ucare MH TCM for a client.  The client has BCBS private insurance.  Ucare is telling me since the client has private insurance we have to bill this prior to Ucare paying.  Are other counties having issues with this?  Do you bill the TPL?  If not, how do you get Ucare to pay?

Thank you!

MA-EPD Direct Deposit

 05-08-24

Marshall County mails checks for the MA-EPD premium reimbursements each month, however one of my EW’s just came and said there is an option of Direct Deposit for our clients.  Are other counties offering this and if so, what do I need to do to implement this? Also, does the County HAVE to offer it?

Thanks.

Leasing Fleet vehicles - Enterprise

 02-05-24

The entire time we have done fleet vehicles we have used Enterprise. We recently contacted them about trading a couple in and were told that we got switched to an open-ended lease, meaning we keep the vehicles we have as long as we want, but we can’t get additional vehicles through them because we don’t have 25 vehicles or more. They said we would be best served by working with a local dealer. We currently leased 10 vehicles.

I am wondering if other agencies lease through dealers? Has anyone else run into this problem? Any information or guidance you have would be appreciated.

Thank you!

MH TCM for child with Adoption Assistance

 02-01-24

Can you bill MH TCM for an MA child who receives adoption assistance?  We are trying to figure out why they aren’t showing up as claimable.  Does it have something to do with the adoption assistance?
