Does anyone provide their foster families with basic
information regarding taxes? I seem to have several calls a year regarding
1099s and what information they need to file their taxes, and if they are
eligible to claim the foster child, any credits, etc. Obviously, would include
a huge caveat that we are not tax providers, and to seek out guidance from a
tax professional for their specific situation. BUT, do you have a cheat sheet of sorts that you provide to
your providers? I’d rather not reinvent the wheel, if someone has something
started already.
Thanks much!

We do not offer any tax information. We tell them to talk to a tax professional. We can let them know that for foster care they will not receive a 1099, but respite they would if it's over $600. That would be the extent of it.
