We have needed to pay for hotels for adults, youth and
families in emergency situations. How are other counties handling
this? Are you using credit card for the stay? Do you rent out hotel
rooms on an annual basis? Apartments? How did you handle this
legally? What about the incidentals? What if the family gets kicked
out? Destroys the room? Purchases something to the room they should not?
Thanks,
Tracey

We have agreements with a couple local hotels to bill us if a SW has to get a room for a client. We haven't used it often. We make it clear that we only pay for the stay, no incidentals.

We use a credit card for this type of purchase. The social worker makes a verbal agreement with the hotel and client as to what we will cover. I have never had a situation where there was damage or other charges made.
ReplyDeleteThe Children's Division works with a travel agent to book hotel rooms, plane tickets, etc. The travel agent sends a bill that is paid thru SSIS.

We have agreements with some local hotels to bill us, and use an agency credit card. We did have a client that destroyed the room, and we worked with the hotel to fix it, but yes, it cost us more money.
